Employee of the Month-April 2021: Brett Curley
SharpNet congratulates Brett Curley on being named Employee of the Month for April 2021! Brett joined the SharpNet team in November 2020 and immediately began handling some of our biggest and most important accounts. He now manages accounts of all sizes and shapes, and his experience and finely tuned people skills make him adept at dealing with high-demand clients who need quick results. When he’s not working, Brett enjoys spending time with his fiancée (a wedding is planned for September 2022!) and two splendid Corgis.
Here are some additional fun facts about Brett!
Before working at SharpNet, what was the most unusual or interesting job you’d ever had?
B: Back in 2016 I started working in the firearm industry at two local gun shops. In the evenings I moonlit as a bartender and managing help at a local butcher shop in Loveland. It all started when a good friend of mine had a friend that he was in the corp with passed away and he randomly reached out and asked if I could run his entire butcher shop for a week or 2. Without hesitation, given the circumstances, I immediately said yes, and then just started helping him when he got back each evening after working at the gun shops during the day.
How did you first learn about SharpNet?
B: LinkedIn, the best way to learn about legitimate businesses in my opinion.
How do you balance your career at SharpNet and your free time?
B: I have a very type A work style, but a calm carefree off-mode. So I enjoy hiking, spending time with my fiancée and dogs, adventuring in the mountains and a good whiskey. You have to learn to go hard when you’re here and then shut off when it’s time to. Took years of practice to get that one down.
How has SharpNet helped you in your career development?
B: It’s allowed me to continue to dabble with and hone skills I’ve had for a while in this industry, but it also allows me to step outside the box to try and improve with new strategies that SharpNet offers. It additionally allows me to occasionally throw my input into the day-to-day process in an effort to try and improve on our efficiency here.
If you could pick one theme for SharpNet to turn into a book about the company, what would it be?
B: The collaborative and understanding culture. Knowing that everyone has something to offer and knowing who to go to is key to efficient success here. And I love efficiency.
Any random facts you could share?
B: I’m a certified firearms instructor and law enforcement certified armorer.
Are you messy or organized?
B: Chaotically efficient, everything has its place.
Best vacation you’ve been on?
B: Nicaragua in January of 2020.
If you could be any force of nature, what would it be?
B: Gravity because it has the biggest noticeable impact on shot placement.
